CHIJ’s MOU Venture

The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus School (CHIJ) is a Non-formal Vocational School established in 1963 and delivers holistic education to students by providing a unique, well-balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the requirements of the 21st Century learners.

CHIJ prepares students to go to work in companies/organizations or to further their education in universities of their choice. This is achievable because our curriculum comprises of business-related subjects which are essential for work and also serve as fundamental subjects for further studies.

In April 2022, CHIJ signed an MOU in collaboration with Pramahatai Suksa School which would enable CHIJ Graduates to earn our renowned Vocational Certificate along with a High School Certificate in Business Program (from Pramahatai Suksa School) simultaneously after completing the three-year course of study at CHIJ. 

Q: What is the purpose of the High School Certificate (MOU)?

A: Office of The Private Education Commission (OPEC) has always been a firm believer when comes to the role of education in sustainable development. The MOU signed by The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus School (CHIJ) and Pramahatai Suksa School acts as a stepping stone toward equality of educational opportunities, as well as, lifelong learning, which is a form of self-initiated education that is focused on personal development.  Such collaborations between formal and non-formal academic institutes will enable learners, who wish to pursue higher education, to enroll in the courses that attract them while still being active members and enjoying the benefits of the standardized educational system.

Q: What will the students receive upon completing the three-year course of study at CHIJ?

A: The students will receive Vocational Certificate from CHIJ along with a High School Certificate in Business Program (in English) from Pramahatai Suksa School.

Q: What is the difference between NFE (กศน) and the High School Certificate (MOU) with Pramahatai Suksa School?

A: The students do not need to attend classes on weekends or join extra-curricular activities outside the school compound. The school aims to create a safe learning environment for all students and maintain study-life balance by promoting flexibility and convenience for everybody.

Q: What are the subjects that the students need to take?

A: Along with all the subjects offered by CHIJ, the students are required to take Thai and general Science to meet the requirement of the Grade 12 (M.6) curriculum. The students will be assessed through tests, classwork, projects, self and peer assessment, etc.

Q: What is the fee for joining the High School Certificate (MOU)?

A: There is no additional fee for joining the High School Certificate (MOU). The students are free to enjoy the benefits provided by both CHIJ and Pramahatai Suksa School.

It is worth noting that The Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus and Pramahatai Suksa are the first schools in Bangkok that collaborated in expanding beyond the boundaries of the conventional learning practice, in the hope that all learners will be better equipped with the necessary skills needed for their career paths.

CHIJ, which just celebrated its 59th anniversary in 2022, has reached a new milestone and is more than ready to welcome new challenges as opportunities to grow, learn, and develop.
